Terrified of the Real World
Wednesday, May 04, 2016The more classes I finish the more I realize that the real world is right around the corner. I got to have a peek into this so called "real world" last summer when I was interning as a Java developer. The money was great but I won't say I didn't seriously contemplate quitting once or twelve times. Spending my days in a cubicle working with people I couldn't quite connect with left me feeling out of place and lost. I didn't know if switching my major was going to be as worth it as I had previously thought. I know I've come to a point where finishing my degree is clearly the best choice at this point regardless of whether or not I actually pursue a career in the field of Computer Science but I also know I don't want to spend my life in a cubicle.
Recently I have been looking into entrepreneurship and opening a digital store front that would go along with the aesthetics of ThisIsWore. This is just a thought at this point but may be reality in the next year or so. I think this is the way my life needs to go. Maybe I'll become a freelance web developer or programmer. Who knows?
I love programming and I love fashion and if you have any idea how I can combine the two please let me know in the comments down below!

In the same boat as you Krysta! There's nothing wrong with having a 9 to 5 which is your office job and a 5 to 9 which is your dream job. Keep working your 9 to 5 until your 5 to 9, becomes you 9 to 5. I personally do not know how to combine those two but I know you will find a way to do it. There's no better feeling than doing what you love, the paycheck is just a bonus!

I feel your pain. I'm a recent graduate, and I'm currently struggling to find a job where I can combine my love of writing & fashion. I hope both of us finds what we're looking for. Good luck, xo
